Ethiopian Airlines and Boeing Launch Year IV STEM School Program

Ethiopian Airlines Group, in partnership with Boeing, has officially launched the fourth edition of its youth STEM School Program, hosted and managed by its academic division, the Ethiopian Aviation University (EAU).

The official launch ceremony took place on July 13, 2026, attended by high-level officials including Mr Laeke Tadesse (President of Ethiopian Aviation University) and Ambassador Henock Tefera (Managing Director of Boeing Africa).

Program Highlights:

  • 56 talented high schoolers (28 new students and 28 returning alumni from the 3rd cohort).
  • An intensive six-week residential program hosted on the EAU campus.
  • Hands-on training in Coding & Robotics, Arduino & AI, Mobile & Web Development, and Autonomous Systems.
  • Targeted internships in Ethiopian Airlines' key MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) and IT (Information Technology) departments.
  • Balanced with structured weekend educational and recreational activities.

Directly managed by EAU’s consultancy and community services teams, this initiative is designed to build a sustainable pipeline of STEM and aviation professionals for Ethiopia and the wider region. Both Mr Laeke Tadesse and Ambassador Henock Tefera closed the ceremony by reaffirming that this initiative is built to cultivate future talent, establishing a sustainable pipeline for STEM professionals and the broader aviation industry within Ethiopia and across the region.
